Guitarist Matthew Gwinup is a lifelong musician who brings together modern and traditional styles into a virtuosic musical experience. From classical guitar works to the Beatles, his repertoire has something for everyone  - Classical guitar, modern fingerstyle, rock and roll, folk, blues, and jazz.

Matthew is a regular performer in many of central Oregon’s iconic music venues, including a sold out show at the Tower Theater in June of 2023.  He has opened for Grammy-winning Hawaiian slack key guitarist Jeff Peterson and the Montreal Guitar Trio, both performances also at the Tower.  He is a seasoned performer, and has played in a variety of settings, including concert halls, theatrical productions, brewpubs, weddings and private parties, and in many outdoor locations such as Crater Lake, Smith Rock, and more! He is also a founding member of Five Pint Mary, the Oregon Guitar Trio, and Toothpick Shaker.

Matthew has performed in masterclasses for many world-renowned artists such as Ana Vidovic, Andrew York, Alex deGrassi, Jason Vieaux, Adam Del Monte, Tommy Emmanuel, and Ralph Towner. He also has an active teaching studio, where he teaches guitar, piano, bass, mandolin, and ukulele.

When he is not performing or teaching Matt enjoys snowboarding, gardening and playing with his two boys, Ezra and Arlo. He also loves attending live music and eating nice meals with his lovely wife April.

Matt's goal is to create a community of musicians and music lovers, collaborate, and share his music with the world.  Matt hopes to entertain, inspire and educate people about music and the guitar.
